That's sort of where I'm at as well. It's hard to know if we can trust them when they don't seem to know anything and we can't even read their expressions.

Right? Like, I can get why there are some things they don't know, but I don't know why they can't take their stupid ominous hoods off.

We should try to demask them. If we sneak up on them and trick them, the hoods will have to be removed.

To work in a coffee shop? I feel like there's a disconnect there. Nobody goes back to a boring job after a life of fun. [Hmm...]

So what happened?

I realized I had to get my act together. I mean, I was thirty and I didn't have ties anywhere. No stable job, no education... It's not a good look for someone my age. You know?

[He's maybe the worst person to ask about this, considering money has never been an issue and free time is always on hand, but he can at least nod and pretend that he understands entirely.]

You have a point. But at the same time was that something you were discontent with? Or is it something someone else said you should be unhappy about?

[She has to pause to give that a moment of honest thought.]

Eh. A little of column A, a little of column B. Enough of column A that I didn't feel like I was being pressured into it, though. It was my choice.

As long as it was your own choice. [Hm.] It's hard to imagine giving up something exciting for something...not.

I think you might get it when you're older.

That's if we get out of here. Growing old in this place doesn't sound very pleasant, truthfully.

Ugh, don't even say that. If I'm not out of here in a month I might break the walls down myself.

A month is almost generous. But if that's true, I'll help.

Then again, maybe by then they'll at least be able to tell us what we should be doing.

It's going to get really awkward really quick if we still have no idea what's going on after a month has passed.

Awkward and yet not impossible. That's the real problem. [And also very likely.] If we split the tasks of what to look into, however, we may accomplish more that way.
