[Hello, Shess!! When North and Emma find him in the garden a while after the execution, Emma looks... fairly somber, for her part. There's a frown on her face as she starts speaking, at the very least.]
It was either him or Akane that's corrupted, and I think whichever one of them wasn't corrupted was involved somehow. If I check him and he wasn't with Shirasu or Minato, that means it was Akane, but if he was around both of them...
[Hm.]
Unless you happen to have heard about someone miraculously being gifted a purification item today out of nowhere.
Sol said it reacts to people withholding information or not being honest, even if they don't know it. Specifically, information that's relevant to what happened between Thursday and Friday.
... It's not perfect. But I don't think Sol would have answered your questions like that if it wasn't meant to help us come to a decision.
Since this shouldn't be a week where some of us get pulled into a hidden place in the next gateway, we aren't going to get new items until Friday, and by then...
[She sighs.]
We can't say for sure whether one of those items will purify someone or whether the person who receives it will be willing to use it, and whether it's Akane or Julius... We don't really want to give them the opportunity to kill another uncorrupted person this week, do we?
We wanted your opinion, too. If you think there's a better option, or if there's not... I don't know. If you feel comfortable giving us any information we might not know that could help.
[For Emma's part, at least, Shess will have to find her in her house - she isn't keen to go outside, and it'll be obviously quickly enough why.
There's a smile on her face she can't quite seem to force down even if she doesn't seem remotely happy, and when she speaks, her voice is incredibly hoarse and raspy. There's no point in lying at this point, at least. Dryly:]
[North for her part, looks... completely fine? But then again, she's covered herself up pretty nicely. Long sleeved shirt under a jacket, accompanied with baggy jeans and boots. It's difficult to tell if she's hiding anything underneath.]
We slept like babies.
[Dryly.
Let's assume North was chilling with Emma at this time of the day for whatever reason.]
[Well. Still smiling even despite the wince of pain she gives, she reaches over to push slightly at the collar of her shirt to show the edge of a bright red, very recent burn scar on her shoulder.]
I suppose you should also know that Akane most likely has Minato and Hisoka's reward from the war—a gun with one shot that's guaranteed to hit its target.
Then we'll just have to make sure she doesn't find out.
[Somehow.]
Both options are risky. Leaving Akane alone, or taking the chance that she'll find out we messed with her head later on. We have to decide which one will give us the biggest reward.
Provided that she hasn't changed elements, Akane should still have an air ability. She may have changed it from Now You See Me—the one you have to worry about most is probably Strike While It's Hot, as it'll be difficult to protect you from that.
If I never see another fucking lightning bolt in my life, it’ll still be too soon.
[She’s weary.]
...The invisibility could be a problem if she decides to use the gun, though. You think there’s a way to get it from her before anything happens without being suspicious?
Would Lune and Sol would tell us if someone's switched their skill recently? [Or was it only in terms of elemental manipulation? Well...] It'd be easier to take it from her if we knew where she was keeping it. But she's been even less forthcoming with information since Minato died.
[Which is, you know, understandable. But also an inconvenience.]
We could do an item check as early as possible to see if she has it on her, but then you'd have to confiscate everyone's weapons. Otherwise, she's under no obligation to give it up.
It's worth a shot. [Better to try than to give up immediately...] She seemed willing to cooperate Naminé offered her help. And if that doesn't work, then someone will have to push her into it like Cinnabar did. We just have to be thorough. It's easy enough to conceal a weapon if you know what you're doing.
week five, sunday.
Hey. We had something important to run by you.

he glances at north, but.]
What is it?

Anyway--]
We're likely going to have to kill Julius if Emma can't clear him.
no subject
[Hm.]
Unless you happen to have heard about someone miraculously being gifted a purification item today out of nowhere.

shess admittedly doesn't bat an eye at that, because cool, but—]
I haven't. Are we positive that that top can be relied on?

Why are you telling me this, though?
no subject
[FIRST THING'S FIRST.]
... And, we wanted your cooperation if we go through with this.
no subject
[A beat.]
We thought you might be able to cover for us somehow if it does come to that, but - neither of us are going to force you if you don't want to.
no subject
If you do this, I'm not necessarily going to out you. But I can't guarantee I'll go out of my way to lie for you, either.

What will you do if you come across someone up on Thursday night using a talisman, like I was?

wow, that inspires so much confidence.]
no subject
What? Do you have a better idea?
no subject
[save them]
no subject
At least consider how you'll explain it to them. Unless, of course, you just plan on eliminating them to ensure their silence.
week six, friday.
Had a busy night, you two?
[are emma and north even in one piece.]

Completely uneventful.

Was there something you needed, Shess?
no subject
I was looking to confirm it.
I suppose you should also know that Akane most likely has Minato and Hisoka's reward from the war—a gun with one shot that's guaranteed to hit its target.
[just in case it becomes relevant.]
no subject
Cool. Can't wait to get shot. [...] Would it make things better or worse if I used Undertow?
no subject
Do you know if she would have to know our identities for it to work? Or would willing the bullet to hit "Julius' killer" be enough?
no subject
... As for whether or not Undertow would help or not, I'm not sure.

Which is to say, if it becomes clear that you're about to be outed, be prepared. But we don't need a repeat of Ookurikara.

That's why Milla did the pat-downs.
