For one, we're neutral among other clans. We have no explicit enemies, but we also have no alliances to protect ourselves with.

We're also neutral in the conflict with other races. Therefore, I can act as a go-between them and others of my kind, who would run the risk of being attacked on sight.

Well, even if one was born into a certain life, that doesn't make them a passive observer of their surroundings.

After all, the other side of the coin would be that someone who was born into cruelty and commits cruel acts of their own is simply "unlucky", rather than accountable for their actions, and that I disagree with.

Not really... There's no real obligation to stay with your clan, and one clan even welcomes those who chose to leave their original.

I wouldn't say there's zero complications, but it wouldn't be as if they'd send a hunting party for you either.
