I'd have said something a bit sooner, but I didn't wish to cause any trouble while he was still alive.

He said I was one of the only ones who was willing to speak with him; perhaps it made him more open. I suppose you're already aware we spoke, though.

[he didn't question it, he just collected the info.]

As far as what-- the notes and the sort of information you two received, as well as who you've been looking into.

When did he tell you this...? And, sorry, I know he can be full of shit sometimes, so I just want to make sure, who did he say we checked...?

That's a part of why I wanted to confirm with you-- I'm well aware of how he is. His information was generally accurate, though.

[A pause, before-]

According to him? Minato-kun. Four. Myself. The first two I knew about last week; he spoke with me after I'd talked to you, this week.

[She frowns, her brow furrowing.]

...Is that why you told me what your element is?

[wagashis]

I found out afterwards that you already knew. A little anticlimactic in the end, wasn't it?

Look, I know how that must seem, but I - wasn't lying when I said I trusted you.

It's a large thing to trust someone with. I can understand that well enough-- it isn't as though I immediately shared that I knew, either.

[Speaking of that, though.]

Did you tell anyone else he was working with you? His partner was the only one he informed, evidently.

[She shakes her head.]

...No. I didn't tell anybody else. And - if you'd keep it between us, I'd appreciate it.

[wagashis]

Of course. I'd appreciate if you'd do the same-- I'm sure it's best not to be connected with him.

[Nobody wants to be connected with Hisoka.

And, after a moment's pause:]

I did want to ask why you chose me, though. He mentioned you were set on it.

Of course.

[She shrugs.]

...You seemed like the kind of person who might have a role. I was curious.

[wagashis]

You thought two of us might be put together, and risk losing both if one of us died by association?

[It doesn't sound like a callout-- just curious, his head tilted slightly.]

[A soft laugh, a little bit self conscious.]

Well, it sounds stupid when you say it like that. But... It seems like Lune and Sol took personality into account more than anything else. I wasn't sure.

[wagashis]

...fair enough.

[That might sound very slightly uncertain, but- right. Trusting people.

He is working on it.]

Have you had any leads on who else to look into?

[She shakes her head.]

I usually wait until that day comes up to decide, in case I get new information from anybody before that. Why, did you have someone in mind?

[wagashis]

I'd pay attention to people connected with Shess. Potentially his partner, but not necessarily... it's a bit hard to narrow down, when people might avoid being seen in public.

[He shifts where he's sitting, one leg folded over the other, chin propped in his palm.]

It's entirely possible he just caught on to it himself, but pointing out the food last week was interesting. I think it's similar to what Akane-chan tried to do for Namine-- bringing information up on someone else's behalf-- so bringing it up himself makes it less likely it's his own ability.

[She frowns.]

...You think the food was because of an ability? Didn't Sol say it was something the universe gave us?

[wagashis]

According to Shess, he confirmed it was due to the actions of one of us.

Perhaps the form of it was decided by the universe...? I don't know that our speculation on it got terribly far. But I believe he knew to ask about it in the first place.

[She nods.]

Right. Is there anyone in particular you think it might have been...? I get the feeling Shess is the kind of person a lot of different people trust.

[wagashis]

That's the trouble with it-- though it's also why he was a good choice to speak up.

I'm not terribly familiar with him myself, but... in the absence of any better leads, you might start with Miki-chan.

[foodbin]

[She nods.]

I can't promise that, in case something more pressing comes up with someone else, but... She could be a place to start, yeah.

Related to all of this... did you ever ask what would happen, if one of you were to die? I never asked the same of him, before, but if that might impact matters...

I'm not sure whether it'll be just me, or if I'll get a new partner. Honestly, even no partner would be an improvement.
